What Does A Lump Behind Ears Indicate?

Question: I have a lump in the back of my right ear. It seems to be right by the mastoid bone (from what I've read) It's hard and has like a bony structure. It is the size of a half walnut (give or take). i do not have any pain or fever. Sometime when I lay down I feel a little bit of pressure on the right side but I don't know if it's because I'm now conscious about it or if it really is a symptom.... I took my first x-rays today but I have to wait a few days until the results are send to my doctor but I'm anxious... I want to know if it's a tumor what are some of the worst scenarios and what should I prepare myself for?
