What Does A Small Lump On Back Of Neck Indicate?

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Nov 2014
Question: I have a small bump on the back of my neck. It does not look like a mole, it is not discolored (pink or otherwise). It is about the size of a tiny pea and is flesh colored. But when i press on it my fingers smell very foul--- almost like vinegar or cheese! There is no discharge at all, just when i rub the bump it excudes a bad odor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of it so I can give more precise answer?
From your description it sounds like benign skin lesion. It may be a fibroma, sebaceus cyst or lipoma.
Sebaceus cyst is the lump which pressed can produce whitish masses or bad smell.
The best way to find out what it is, is dermatologist consult. All mentioned lesions can be removed with small surgical procedure.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
