What Does Abdominal Pain Indicate Despite Being On Aleve?
Can be muscular is superficial or inflammatory condition if deep within
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/61 - nagging pain - right and center, lower part of abdomen - sneezing on bending in a certain way causes pain - no fever or nausea - some relief with Aleve ( Naproxen)...
Such type of pain can be due to one of the following things:
Appendicitis or some inflammatory focus in abdomen at the site of pain like colitis or an inflamed lymph node in abdomen. This is usually deep seated. Tests of tenderness and rebound tenderness may be present.
Muscular pain: is superficial under the skin, can be elicited on straining or stretching of abdominal muscles.
The best way to get a proper diagnosis is as follows:
Clinical examination by a Doctor, preferably a General Surgeon.
Tests of blood, stool and urine.
Ultrasonography of abdomen and still better a CT scan of abdomen if required helps to confirm the diagnosis and get a plan of further management.
