Brief Answer:
It could be COPD.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Most probably your symptoms are related to COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
You need to consult your primary care Doctor and have a full check up about this condition.
Check up includes chest x-rays (pulmonary CT is better), pulmonary function tests, blood gases.
These tests results should be discussed with a Pulmonary diseases Doctor, as well as treatment possibilities.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

I dont cough up the mucus does that make a difference, this all started suddenly happened 2 days ago after I vomited one night, is it possible this is temperary due to the vomiting. Is there a difference between coughing up the mucus and hocking it up? I'm not hocking up as much mucus would you say its stuck in my lungs?
Brief Answer:
Shortness of breath should be assessed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again and thanks for asking back.
Pulmonary problems after vomiting means there may be aspiration pneumonia that may cause shortness of breath.
If you have to much mucus with no cough, saliva overproduction may be related to gastroesophageal disorders.
Anyway, shortness of breath should be investigated further.
Consult your primary care Doctor.
Hope this helps. Wishing you good health.
