What Does Large Soft Tissue Mass In The Abdomen Of CT Scan Indicate?

It is only presumptive impression of CT Scan.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM
You have large soft tissue mass in the abdomen. From its appearance in contrast CT scan, liposarcoma should be ruled out.It is only presumptive impression from CT scan.It is not confirmatory.
You need further evaluation like contrast MRI(Abdomen). It is the investigation of choice for soft tissue imaging. It can detect extension of mass and its invasion to surrounding structures.Lymph nodes are also better appreciated by MRI scan.
Differential diagnosis can be narrowed down by MRI Scan.
You are rightly advised for MRI scan. You should go for it.
Exact nature of mass can only be confirmed by biopsy of the lesion,so it should be done.
Proper treatment depend upon findings.

You shouldn't get confuse with the words.
Probably you have retroperitoneal mass and there are many differential diagnosis.
Definitive diagnosis can only be confirmed by FNAC/Biopsy.
Prior to that,MRI is also very helpful for diagnosis and extent of disease.
Main probable lesions in retroperitoneum region are
1.Mesenchymal origin like originated from skeletal muscle, fat, peripheral nerve, vessels, fibrous tissue.
2.Extra gonadal germ cell tumours
3.Primary retroperitoneal adenocarcinoma.
You can also upload CT scan and USG reports through attachments of healthcaremagic for better interpretation.
