What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?

Question: Hello Dr. Spaho.
I saw the Orthapologist today and she said my eyes look fin and only did the dilation dn check the pressure of the eye. Personally she really didn't offer any reason just that some times one eye has more tissue that the other, etc. I showed her the MRI as well. I feel like getting another opinion. She said my optic nerve looks good and three other doctors have told me that they can see it in the left eye. It just makes me concern that I am not getting a though exam looking at all the possibilities.

I have been misdiagnosed before regarding my MS and infertility so I just believe in getting 2nd and even a third onion. The throbbing n my left side is increasing. I can touch it and feel it.

What do you think should be my next step? I have requested another MRI from my primary and waiting for that. I also have made another appointment for another primary to see if they have some ideas.

Thanks again, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Having a second opinion by an Ophtalmologist is the right way.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again XXXXXXX and thanks for asking me directly.

First, I'm happy to hear that there are no current issues with your eye.

However, eye coming out of the socket needs an answer about the cause, so, I agree with your opinion about having a second opinion by an Ophtalmologist.

It is true that there is more soft tissue behind the left than the right eye, and probably it is inflammation.

Since you requested a new MRI, I think it should be targeted in evaluating the possible causes of exophtalmos.

For this purpose are needed appropriate MRI sequences such STIR, gadolinium enhancement and MRA (angio MR).

Hope you found the answer helpful.

I remain at your disposal for further clarifications.

Greetings.

Hello,
I will request this for sure. Also do you think this throbbing and pressure on my left side is related possibly or just some MS issue?
I really appreciate it. I felt so dismissed in the office. I'm still waiting for the MS doctor to refer me regarding the skull abnormalities that she doesn't know what it is. I'll take care of this first and maybe the new MRI will show something.
Thanks again, XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back XXXXXXX

If the pressure and pain are felt behind the left eye, it is possible to be related to inflammation of orbital tissue.

If they are felt in distance with the eye, possibly are related to MS.

In my opinion, if MRI will be done with appropriate protocols, it will give additional information about the correct diagnosis.

Wishing you good health.
