What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: I had an MRI with a cam lesion and have hip problems. Is this 'lesion' a tumor? My grandmother had multiple myeloma
Brief Answer:
Not related to cancer.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A deformity of the ball at the top of the femur is called cam impingement. it causes hip pain and is a mechanical or structural disorder of the hip. The deformed ball causes pain on movement of the hip. This is not related to cancer or myeloma. You need not worry.

Thank you so much. I also have some lumps on my shin, closer to my ankle. What might these be?
Brief Answer:
Can be sebaceous cyst or osteoma.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Lumps on the skin close to ankle can be due to sebaceous cyst or osteoma. These are also likely to be benign swellings. However direct examination is needed to find the cause.
