Question: Namaste
My two wheeler skidded and i fell on my knee. Initially i was diagnosed as Haemarthrossis. I had 10 days bed rest But as there was pain in my knee i went to another doctor who advised MRI and the report said UNDISPLACED FRACTURE OF THE POSTERIOR ASPECT OF THYE LATERAL CONDYLE OF TIBIA, LIPOHEMARTHROSIS.. I am advised one month bed rest and was told to use walker and not to rest my leg on floor, no medicines and no plaster. Now it is 15 days after MRI and one month after the fall from vehicle. and i am unable to bend my knee beyond 90 degrees. Today again I went to doctor but i was asked to rest for another 15 days. Of course as I dont have any support in my day to day chores i am slowly limping and walking and completing the house work.I am using crepe band sometimes as i feel heaviness in my calf muscles. But I fear whether i would be able to walk normally or not. Doctor kindly advise me as to what to do next so as to recover faster should i use a knee cap or any band.

Brief Answer:
I will advise you to use supportive walker and walk non weight bearing

Detailed Answer:
Hello/Namaste

I have read your query,

I have sympathy for pain and disability you are suffering.

I will advise you to use supportive walker and walk non weight bearing on affected leg.

Unsupported walking with limp will aggravate symptoms and results later on.

Do not worry about knee flexion now. Once healing is complete start guided physiotherapy and exercises to get good end results.

Take vitamin C, calcium and vitamin D supplement for early healing.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
If you are satisfied with the answer, please give your review at the end of the discussion.

Wishing you good health.

I am using a supportive walker. I feel i can walk better without a walker. Occasionally I do use a walker, but not regularly. How long will it take for me to recover. will i be alright in at least two weeks from now. Is there no need for knee band/cap or crepe band
