What Does My MRI Scan Test Report Indicate?
Question: Quit drinking nearly three years ago. Mri showed no cirrhosis very little fatty liver, No weight loss, Went to new doc did abdomonal ultrasound, did not mention much about it. Wants a thyroid test. I work nights, of course I'm tired. There is swelling in my feet, ankles and sometimes my legs. Days I don't work feet are fine. Now she want a liver punch, And all I wanted was some comfortable shoes!
Brief Answer:
swelling in ankles is reason for concern
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.
The swelling in the ankles is probably her reason for concern. It can be from heart failure, thyroid disease, kidney disease or cirrhosis, so it can be hard to sort out. With a history of heavy drinking she probably wants to make sure that your liver is okay. The thyroid is just a blood test. If you do not want the liver biopsy, just tell her that but make sure that you understand if she does not do it she may not know the cause for the ankle swelling.
