Brief Answer:
likely not a problem

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
I have read your question and reviewed your MRI report in detail. The Petrous Apex Cephalocele (will call it PAC to be brief) is likely not related to your symptoms. It is most often an incidental finding and does not cause any symptoms.
Occasionally a patient with severe headache, cranial nerve problems or hearing loss may have a PAC that is causing those symptoms, but in most people seeing that on the MRI is not a concern.
You need to talk to your doctor and if he or she feels that you have symptoms related to the PAC then you would need to talk to a neurosurgeon about removing it. In most cases that is not necessary.
I wish you the best,
Dr. Robinson
