Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

MRI of brain report showing "a few small foci of ischaemic gliosis in white matter of both cerebral hemispheres with cerebral atrophy" in elderly age group is very commonly observed. This commonly,is physiological or normal at this age, called as Age related white matter changes(ARWMC).

However, sometimes hypertension, vasculitis and Diabetes may worsen the ischemic changes. Is your father having any of these conditions? If yes, these need to be treated.

Cerebral atrophy is almost universal at this age.

He can be started on antipletelet and statin drugs-Ecosprin-AV(Aspirin and atorvastatin) combination.PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
