I had severe headache (mostly to the left side) for the last 3 weeks. i have consulted an ENT to understand if it is because of Mid ear infection as i have gone through tympanoplasty in 2012. I wqas advised to take an MRI Brain. The report says, Susceptibility Foci in body of right hippocampus, right precentral cortex - Likely Calcific Granuloma.. Brief Answer:
Calcified Granuloma is a healed stage of past infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your findings may suggest calcified lesions in right hippocampus, right precentral cortex region of brain.
It is a healed stage of past infection.Past infection may be due to neurocysticercosis, tuberculoma etc.It is not an active stage.

Infection naturally heals by calcification.

Calcifications in brain may cause headache but it need clinical correlation. You may also need proper evaluation for ear infection.
You may need medicines for headache after evaluation.

MRI brain findings are not very serious.

Hope I have answered your query.
