Question: Just got NMR results: LDL-P 1385 LDL-C 167 HDL-C 128 Triglycerides 74 Cholesterol Total 310
HDL-P total 50 Small LDLP 135 LDL size 21.3 LP-IR score <25 I took the XXXXXXX Heart Assoc. risk assessment, was 2% risk for heart attack. I had a very low risk for stroke as/per C-reactive protein #, I am 61 yr.old female, no immediate family history of heart disease. But I don't know much about the NMR results and am concerned about the high values.

Brief Answer:
borderline high NMR results, not high overall risk

Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs XXXX

NMR is a more sensitive test for lipid profile. Your LDL-P is 1385, which is borderline high.
But your overall risk is not high and there is no evidence for prescribing statins in such cases.
So you should not worry, keep following healthy lifestyle, start exercise when you recover and have regular checkups.

I hope I could help you.

Have a good health.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration in quelling my fears. I see a specialist for my hormone issues and gynocological questions. I do not currently have a PCP. Is it necessary to take these blood numbers to anyone else, or am I good to go, at least until next year's blood work? Again, thank you. XXXXXXX Soini
