Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

The report of x-ray say that there are aortic and iliac arteries atherosclerotic calcification (i.e. atherosclerotic plaques). Atherosclerosis is a process of plaque formation within arteries causing arterial blockage.

Since atherosclerosis is a diffuse process that is spread in all the body arteries and is responsibile for arterial blockage. Arterial blockage is responsibile for cardiovascular events including heart attack and stroke. This is whyo ther tests are needed for a proper evaluation of your case.

If you were my patients I would recommend to do the following examinations to find out the actual status of arterial atherosclerosis (and to prevent future risk from cardiovascular events):
- Blood work including lipids profile.
- Ecg
- Cardiac echo
- Stress test
- Cardiac Calcium score/ cardiac ct angiography
- Aorta and iliac arteries CT angiography.

Meanwhile I would recommend to start a healthy lifestyle and diet as follows:
- Loose weigh
- Reduce alcohol intake to less than one drink per day
- Quit smoking
- Reduce salt intake
- Increase physical activity
- Use omega 3 fish oil and CoQ 10
- Avoid unnecessary stress and stressful events

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
Dr. Shehu
