Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
This x ray report is suggestive of
1. Emphysema (lung fields are expanded)
2. Possible left lower lobe infection (coarse peri bronchial markings in left lower lobe).
So you need PFT (pulmonary function test) for the confirmation of emphysema.
Blood reports for lung infection.
Please let me know
1. Do you have breathlessness and fever?
2. Do you smoke?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Is this chest x ray recent one or before 12 weeks ?
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having chronic cough.
I am a bit confused. You are having symptoms since 12 weeks. Right?
Then what is the date of x ray? I mean is it recent one or 12 weeks before?
Do you see any improvement after cephalexin?

Brief Answer:
We should rule out chronic infection in your case.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
So this chest x ray is of recent time (4rth April).
We need to rule out chronic infection and lung cancer (less likely) in your case.
Cough for 12 weeks in smoker should be evaluated in depth.
So please let me know
1. Do you have weight loss?
2. Do you have anorexia and decreased appetite?
3. Have you ever had lung infection in the past?
4. Have you ever had hemoptysis (blood in sputum)?
5. You have mentioned about blood reports and spirometry. You are about to have all these tests or you already had done these tests?
