What Does My Biopsy Report Indicate?
Question: hi my father is 81 and has been fighting CLL for a few years with many complications, kidney cancer, removed a kidney, prostate cancer, melanoma, and many lymphomas removed. Now he has MRSA (Hospital acquired), they said he is in CHF, his platelets are 40, heart function is 20%, and his echo showed he MAY have Amyloidosis ~ biopsy to follow on Monday. He will also have fat pad, and fluid removed from his abdomen and biopsied. My question is what does his prognosis look like?
Brief Answer:
Very poor prognosis!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.
It is not certainly the best information but professionalism demands that I stay honest with you. The prognosis of your father is very poor. I will not give him more than 6months as of this date. However, I encourage the doctors to give it their all and let the best outcome be fought and sought for him.
It is time for him to take time and talk about end of life issues/wishes/unfinished projects/etc. A specialist at your local community in collaboration with his doctors
can see about this.
I wish you well. Be strong and stand by himself always.
