Posted on Mon, 24 Nov 2014
Question: I am suffering from numbness in my both hands while sleeping. Its there in all body parts even if i keep them idle for 2-3 mins.i thought its due to some bad blood circulation. When i consulted doctor he checked thyroid, vitamin b12 & vit d and result is tsh - 4.15m1u/ml(range range 0.3 -5.5 m1u/ml),b12 -388 pg/ml(range 200-900pg/ml ),D-20ng/ml (range 30-70 ng/ml)respectively.He suggested nervyplus capsule & calcirol XXXXXXX however it didnt reduce till day.I was having fever for past 2 days and since then am having very tiny red blood spots on both my arms and 2-3 on stomach which fades when i apply pressure but reappears next moment.I am having pcos and taking melmet for that.Is this happening because of any hormonal imbalance? Also in my last bloodwork (4th oct)the percentage of lymphocytes seems bit higher when compared to the blood work done before 6 months.Am i having any kind of blood disorder?I was having shortness of breath 2 weeks before but now its not there. Brief Answer:
Seems to be a viral fever with rash.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Your current symptoms of fever with rash seems to be caused by a viral infection. However, you need to do platelet count once again, as low platelets can occur with some viral fevers leading to red rashes.

Regarding your earlier symptoms of numbness in hands, you need to do nerve conduction studies under the guidance of a neurologist to confirm the cause. Then, it can be treated with appropriate medications.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Thanks much for your reply !! It really helped.I was so much worried thinking of my lymphocytes & wbc being high and low rbc & platelet count when compare to previous report taken 6 months back. And these red rashes increased my tension.Hopefully they might not be any symptoms of any underlying disease.
