Thank you for the prompt response doctor. I would like to know what causes this infection so I can put precautionary measures in place next time.
Brief Answer:
some source of infection in body must exist
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
If stapl. aureus is isolated in blood then the source must be somwehere in your body. I may be local infection, in skin, subcutanoeus tissue or infections in other parts of body, such as lung infection or intraabdominal infections.
Commonly we see lung inflammation or endocarditis as a source but pelvic infections due to pelvic abscesses, ruptured ovarian cyst or diverticukitis is possible causes as well. Also, uroinfection is possible sourcem
At this point it is important to treat bacteriemia and report any other symptom to your doctor which will then do required tests.
Wish you good health. Regards
