What Does My Colonoscopy Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Jun 2017
Question: My stools contain something that puts off a color into the water similar to turquoise, green blue that is fairly bright. This started Sat evening. It is apparent when I wipe too.
Along with that I have gone from being usually constipated to diarrhea on a regular basis over the past 10 or so years, following menopause. Also, I drink a fair amount of wine. I decided to quit for a month. That was about 5 or 6 days ago. I am 69, in good health. Recently had a colonoscopy that showed nothing wrong.

Brief Answer:
Any changes you diet?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully and this might be linked to your diet. I will suggest that you review your diet and see what need additions gave come in especially colored substances/vegetables, etc. With a recent colonoscopy that shoed nothing wrong, it is unlikely that this is caused by an underlying organic cause. None of your medications seems to be responsible for this observation.

In all, review your diet and let’s see whether all goes well. There is no need to panic with a recent normal colonoscopy. Finally, do you have any pain when you stool/wipe?

I hope this helps. I wish you well. I hope to hear back from you!

Brief Answer:
Evaluate and adjust diet. Monitor only for now!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There are no immediate red flags. I think your diet is the most likely cause of these symptoms. I suggest that your review your diet and monitor only at this time. Follow up with me in 3-5days on what changes might have set in.

I wish you well and look forward hearing from you!

The only thing I can think of is eating some, well a few handfuls, of Trail mix with nuts, raisins and M&M's, veggie stick snacks, like a baked potato chip, and not drinking wine. Diarrhea persists so I took Imodium.

Brief Answer:
I will suggest you suspend this trail mix and observe!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I will suggest you suspend this trail mix and observe your stools further. It’ okay to take imodium but do not take more than 2tablets a day for now.

I wish you well and await your updates.

It appears that the issue is making its final moments through my digestive system. The color is getting less, a lot less. I will stay away from the trail mix.
Thanks for the support. XXXXXXX Franz
