Tachy can easily be controlled by i.v metoprolol.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
I've gone through your details.
I am Dr Kumar and would be addressing your concerns.

Ideally before performing any procedure the heart rate blood pressure respiratory rate pulse etc should be in normal limits. However in most of the patients due to severe anxiety these parameters get mildly deranged.

Rx
Ask you gastro to inject you with 20 mg metolprolol at the time of procedure this will cause your pulse heart rate etc ro return to normal.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Endoscopies as such are not painful(virtually) however a patient may feel a bit awkward as endoscope is inserted into mouth.

Secondly sedation would take care of tachycardia.Sedatives lower heart rate.

So don't worry.
Have a safe procedure and get well soon.
Feel free to follow up.
If satisfied please close the thread and do write a review.

Thanks!

Brief Answer:
follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hey jeffer i can very well understand the level of your nerousness.
Its always easy to say some one that go for the test but when it comes to even doctors they also feel nervous before having the procedure done on themselves.
So please don't worry you can ask me whatever you want and really its a pleasure if my words can comfort you.

Ok now lets come to your question.

See for sedation they would give you midazolam or oral diazepam. The safety index of this drug is so high that even if we give 50 pills to a patient at a time it won't depress heart function or respiration.

About endoscopy,
Now due to hemiplesia(left hand paralysis) problem i am not into interventions from last 2 years but during my 40 years of practice i have never seen some one dying of endoscopy. And believe me i have performed hundreds of them in XXXXXXX gulf countries and parts of europe.

Your Throat may feel sore,You may have heartburn but all these things would settle down in a day or two.

So my dear friend don't panic.
Sleep tight and in 30 minutes it would be over.
I wish you mountains of luck.
Hope you get well soon.
