What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

Consultation
Detailed Answer:
Thanks again for reaching out to me directly.
I've looked over your reports very carefully.
The first is an MRI of the abdomen. This is a normal study. They mention that much of the small bowel lies in the pouch of XXXXXXX which is a normal finding, not indicative of any pathology. There is no evidence here of inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's.
The second is a colonoscopy report. They note one diverticulum in the sigmoid colon, which is largely normal and not indicative of diverticular disease proper. The terminal ileum, a portion of the small bowel, was found to be normal.
All in all, these reports suggest you have a normal colon and small bowel, which is good news.

Follow-up
Detailed Answer:
Good question. The small bowel refers to the small intestine. The GI system goes like this: mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, anus. The small intestine is the longest part.
