Brief Answer:
There are multiple health problems with the patient apart from the cancer

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Thanks for writing in to u s.

The patient is having complications due to the surgical procedure.

As we know that cancer is a difficult condition to treat and you and your doctors have done the best you could do for the patient.

The problems which are of concern are the following.
1. The patient is weak due to the cancer and therefore general condition is serious.
2. After surgery there was a burst abdomen, in which the surgery wound in the anterior abdomen opened up and bleeding was there.
3. The patient also has problems in breathing and recent reports show there was pneumonia.

In view of above findings, it is difficult to maintain a steady improvement in health for more than few weeks or months.
There are multiple problems involving more than one organ system and really difficult to keep every thing under control.

I have worked in a cancer institute and we make our best efforts to treat patients. However every cancer patient is different and with other associated conditions like lung infection and decreased nutrition, it is difficult to give a word that the patient will get back to satisfactory health.

Hope I have been able to answer at least some part of your queries.
Please write back with your doubts and I will continue with this discussion.
