What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Denoting involvement of kidney
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome.
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist from Fortis hospital.
The reports denote presence of albumin in urine which means involvement of kidney due to diabetes.
Actually diabetes primarily causes three things - involvement of nerves (causing weakening of nerves & thus decreased sensitivity to pain),
Involvement of retina (causing progressive diminishing of vision)
Involvement of KIDNEY - this causes gradual worsening of function of kidney & finally complete failure.
Initial & early test to determine involvement of kidney is microalbumin (a type of protein) in urine.
So he has a involvement of kidney in early stage because of diabetes.
Rest of tests are fine.
Hope this answers your query. If you have any more question, I'll be happy to help.
Thanks & take care

Hi,
Welcome back.
It is just the starting of disease & is present in many diabetic patients. It does not mean that they all develope kidney failure.
It is the starting warning. If bp & sugar are maintained than their are very less chances of developing further damage to kidney.
Aztrics is Azilsartan & a very good drug which prevent the progression of kidney dysfunction & also keeps bp in control. So keep taking it.
He can & will live a absolutely normal life. You just have to be careful that his sugar & bp are well controlled.
No other extra medicine is required.
Check the kidney function test (KFT) every 6 months.
Thanks
