What Does My Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Recently had a body scan and was told that I have subcutaneous edema overlying the gluteus muscles from recent liposuction procedure. What does that mean and should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
Normal finding
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
This finding of edema in subcutaneous layer (fat layer) is quite normal after a liposuction procedure and is due to inflammation as part of healing process following a liposuction procedure. This edema would resolve on its own in due course of time.
Regards
