What Does My Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Hello doctor... i just went for my 36 weeks growth scan and the report says that there is single loop of cord seen in posterior aspect of neck..my baby gets hiccups alot eveyday.. sometimes even 6-7 times.. is there cause for worry?? I knw a friend who lost her baby at 39 weeks due to cord accident and its making me anxious.
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Single loop of cord seen posterior to neck is absolutely no cause of worry.
Hiccups is normal in third trimester.
When the cord is round the neck, then there can be difficult labour, fetal distress and slow heart beat and fetal death, if not treated in time.
For you, there is no loop of cord around neck.
So, nothing to worry.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
