Posted on Fri, 2 Jun 2017
Question: Hi my name is XXXXXXX and I'm 51 years old. My transvaginal ultrasound examination indicated that my uterus measures 8.3/3.7/4.6 on meters and there are uterine soft tissue masses measuring 2.3/2.3/2.3 cm, 1.3/1.3/1.5 cm and 1.9/1.7/1.9 cm. Uterus appears heterogeneous throughout. The endometrial stripe measures 1.0 cm. Can be uterine cancer?

Brief Answer:
Endometrial cancer is diagnosed by doing a biopsy

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query to healthcare magic.

I have read your question carefully and understand your health concern.

Big uterus with small masses as yours is a common finding during the ultrasound and isn't a big issue if you have no abdominal pain with or without vaginal bleeding, urinary or colon issue.

Meanwhile, the endometrial stripe that measures 1 cm may or may not be related to endometrial cancer. It will be diagnosed by doing an endometrial biopsy only.

Usually, endometrial thickness as yours is a benign form(endometrial hyperplasia) and there is nothing to worry about.

Hence you should wait until you will do the endometrial biopsy.

Hope I have been helpful and please feel free for further discussion.

Best regards
