What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Question: Hello, I'm about 5 weeks and a few days pregnant, I had my first ultrasound yesterday and my uterus showed nothing, not even a gestation sac. Is this normal?! My lining was 9.81 thick. Should I be worried about an Ectopic pregnancy? I have had no bleeding or spotting. Just cramps here and there!
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
Brief Answer:
Explanation is given below....
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for your query.
I have read your question carefully and I will try to explain.
Firstly, at 5 weeks of pregnancy in ultrasound scan we should see a gestational sac with yolk sac.
Hence your ultrasound scan showed that you aren't pregnant.
Secondly, only concern for an ectopic pregnancy if your blood Beta-hcg is positive and is growing .
Hence if you haven't done any blood Beta-hcg , you should do it in the first place.
Hope I was helpful, feel free to get back to me in case of any further doubts.
Best regards

I have went to the obgyn and they did confirm that I was in fact pregnant. I did my blood work and will get my results back on Monday. I was just wondering if in any way there could be a reason as to why the sac has not shown up yet..
Brief Answer:
Wait for blood beta-hcg
Detailed Answer:
Hi again!
If you have done blood beta-hcg than you should wait until Monday to clarify if you are or not pregnant .
As i write above at 5 weeks pregnancy gestational sac should be visible ,only if you have conceived very late and you are 3-4 weeks .
Hope I have clarified you and please feel free for any other discussion.
Best regards
