Brief Answer:
Can be due to hormonal changes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The thickened endometrium is the cause of the heavy bleeding that you are having. It can happen due to hormonal changes in the body or due to an endometrial pathology like polyp or malignancy.
It is best to get a follow up scan done after the bleeding stops or get an endometrial biopsy and colposcopy done for proper evaluation.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
