What Does Orange Vaginal Discharge After Total Hysterectomy Indicate?
My name is XXXXXXX and last Monday I had a total abdominal hysterectomy done. It's now been 13 days and I have just started to have an orangy/pink discharge coming out especially when I urinate. What could
This be?
Don't worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.
Do you have abdominal pain?
Do you have frequent urination?
Does vaginal discharge have smell odor ?
In fact It's normal to have bloody vaginal discharge for several days to several weeks after a hysterectomy, as the sutures dissolve and the tissue heals.
Generally, vaginal bleeding after hysterectomy should be light.
As you have noticed occasional spotting or a pink discharge without any mentioned symptoms ,it is normal.
Hence don't worry so much .
If bleeding after hysterectomy is as heavy as a menstrual period or lasts longer than six weeks, consult your doctor for an evaluation.
All the best and fast recovery
Thank you XXXX
There is nothing to worry about
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear again!
In my opinion there is nothing to worry about because as I mentioned above ,occasional spotting or a pink discharge ,within six weeks after hysterectomy , is normal.
If spotting will be continues or as heavy as a menstrual period than you will need to do a vaginal exam .
Be calm ,have a rest and use much more fluids(water) and fibers on your diet.
All the best
