What Does Persistent Neck Pain In A Diabetic Suggest?
im having blood pressue and diabetes. Currently, im using Triolmezest 40mg and Starpress xl 25mg for bloodpressure and glimestar m1 for diabetes. All levels are normal including lipid, echo, hba1c etc. Two days back, all of a sudden, neck started paining and there was a blurredness for sometime. After closing my eyes for few minutes, i was normal. Neck pain continued and after one i was not able to recollect the names of the people for 5-10minutes and fully conscious. After 10 min, i was able to recollect everything.
of course, i was under little stress. Kindly suggest what could be the reason or is it normal for everybody.
Kindly advise the precautions and any diagnostics. Longtime back, i was detected spondilytis but no pain usually.
Could be syncope or seizure
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your symptoms, and based on that, there are two possibilities- syncope and seizure.
In syncope, there is lack of blood flow to brain for a short while, leading to loss of consciousness and loss of memory.
In seizure, there is transient loss of consciousness with amnesia, due to abnormal electrical discharges from brain.
Evaluation would require Carotid doppler and EEG tests.
Both conditions can be treated with medicines.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
