What Does Positive HCG Blood Test Post HCG Shot Indicate?

Question: Hi .. i took hcg shot 5000 on XXXXXXX 2nd and tdy my hcg blood test is positive . Wanna know if this is actual preg or hormone frm hcg shot ?? How long does hcg shot stay in body ? What is my probability of preg??

1. It was done on 17th January . Since i had ohhs i m admitted n an inpatient n yet to see my reports. But doc confirmed positive test and to wait for 1 more week for scanning to be done to be 100% sure. So i wanted to know my chances of it being positive .

2 it was a natural cycle

3 last and only hcg shot was c given on 2nd XXXXXXX .

Your doctor can always give you the report or tell you the value for confirmong positive status. Please find out the same.

Inj hCG even if given stays and gives positive on report only until a week. Since you have received hCG shot on 2nd January it is not possible for injection to interfere in present report.

When there is pregnancy the OHSS increases. Hence i think it is possible that you are definitely pregnant.

Let me know how bad is your OHSS and need any advice.

Yes i will ask and update you .

In the mean time my ohss is quite bad .ovaries have swollen upto 12cms... pod fluid is 150cc ... also i have severe cough .. and there is little fluid in Lungs too for which i m advised to do respirometer exercise.. I m on IV from last 4 days to releive symptoms . And advised high protein diet . I have discomfort in abs when i sleep side ways or feel tight when i walk . Doctors are monitoring my abs girth, weight, vitals regularly . And also hb and pcv was more and now it is normal .

Your OHSS seems to be more. It will come down as you are on right management. Eat 3 boiled egg whites daily and drink lots of water.

If more fluid collects in abdomen, you might need tapping by needle to remove
