What Does Presence Of White Matter In An MRI Report Indicate?
Question: Yes, I went to a neurologist, yesterday. It was a recheck. He said that my MRI w/out contrast came back normal but with white matter? What does white matter mean? Also, he told me that I have torticollis with peripheral neuropathy. He told me that he was referring to a Pain Specialist and that he would start doing Botox in my neck to relieve the pain. I called his office, today, and I was treated very rudely by a medical assistant who advised me that she didn't see any notes in my chart for either Botox or Pain Management. I am really frustrated and in a great deal of pain. What do you suggest I do?
Brief Answer:
Take Treatment as advised.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You need to provide a bit more details regarding your disease.
White matter is part of nervous tissue which carries the nerve axon.
Turned neck or torticollis can be due to spinal lesions, infection, injury to cervical region.
Other cause may be idiopathic torticollis which responds to medication or botox injection.
Some drug can also lead to dystonia of neck muscles.
You need to provide details of movement.
Drugs like Baclofen, Tizanidine can be used for muscle spasm.
Botox injection is another option, if symptoms persists.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
