What Does The Following CT Scan Report Indicate?

Question: I am turning 50 and thinking about a initial CT scan to screen for aneurysms since they run in my family and killed my father (he was in his 70s however). Since I used to be a smoker, naturally I want them to look for malignancies as well. What type of CT scan would be best, and I also understand I need to ask for specific numbers of "slices"? What are your recommendations? The literature seems to be conflicting regarding screening women for aneurysms, and the radiation risk versus benefits. Otherwise I am in excellent health with no chronic diseases. Full disclosure: I am a RN and probably worry too much....thanks for your advice.
PS I did not specify that I was referring to aortic aneurysms...

Brief Answer:
You can go for contrast CT scan.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
You can go for contrast CT scan. Now a days,64 slice machine is widely used for angiography and scanning. It delivers less radiation to patient.
However when aneurysms involve the aortic root,MRI is preferable to CT scanning.CT scan is not very accurate in assessing aortic root diameter.
It is important to screen your thorax due to your age and history of smoking.
I suggest you to first get examined by a physician and you can discuss need for scanning.Generally it is suggested after clinical indication.
Hope I have answered your query.
