What Does The Following Abdominal CT Scan Result Indicate?

Question: Hi, I'm a 54 year old woman never smoked and haven't had any alcohol in 26 years. I'm about 35 pounds overweight, but I am very active. I had a hysterectomy at 48 due to endometriosis and am on am on a estrodiol patch. I recently went in for an abdominal CT scan because I was having stomach and back pain on my left side. I of course feared pancreatic cancer. I noticed the pain after I had taken amoxicillin for a tooth infection. I was then prescribed two antibiotics because the Dr thought it might be diverticulitis. I was told when I asked about the ct scan that it showed a small nonspecific growth in my spleen and a hernia. I want to know how concerned I should be about this. I have a follow up appointment but I would like to be able to sleep tonight. Could this be a metastis from something else even though they looked at other parts of abdomen. I'm a little freaked out. Thank you for your help

Brief Answer:
Most probably not. Nothing to worry if pain was not at hernia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I can understand your concerns very well.
Noted the history in details; the nonspecific small growth in spleen may not be due to any secondary as this is not the common site of it and the CT scan would have shown any primary if it would have been present; hence nothing to worry about this.
Hernia must be an incisional hernia through the old scar, I suppose.
Pain in abdomen after Amoxicillin may be due to disturbed bacterial flora or GI disturbance and probiotics with multivitamins may help.
CT has ruled out diverticulitis.
So nothing looks to be a serious problem if the pain was not at the hernia site.
I hope this answer helps you,m please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

what could a small nonspecific growth in the spleen be and is there anything I can do to make it better. Could it have been from the infection in an old root canal that was taken care of improperly. it was probably there for at least a year

Brief Answer:
Not significant if CT report is not saying

Detailed Answer:
Since CT scan has been reported as ''Nonspecific'' growth, there is nothing we can think about as CT scan is the only investigations which can tell us whether this is specific and has a definite reason or not.
CT says non-specific, hence no further commenting is necessary, you can relax on this point.
You can not not and do not need to worry about this finding.
