What Does The Following Abdominal Pelvic Ct Scan Result Indicate?
Question: 37 year old male. Abdominal pelvic CT revealed several pulmonary nodules in base of lungs bilaterally. Nodules measure up to 5 mm. CT also revealed extensive mesenteric adenopathy, which was addressed with a endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration biopsy. Mesenteric lymph nodes during ultrasound showed they had shrunk in size but still enlarged. FNA biopsy of mesenteric lymph node was found by pathologist to be not melignant. I have had pneumonia 3 times: at birth, 3 years, and 22 years. I'm also a former smoker having quit 4 years ago. Oncologist addressed concern about mesenteric adenopathy some, but should I be concerned about pulmonary nodules? Another CT is not planned until late April, 5 months after initial CT.
Brief Answer:
Hello dear. An earlier ct is warranted
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. Usually we donot sample nodules less than 8mm in size. Smaller lesions need to be followed regularly to see for any increase in size. We advise a 3 monthly ct for follow up. Moreover, a repeat biopsy of mesenteric node is advisable.
Thanks and regards
