What Does The Following Semen Analysis Report Indicate?

Question: I need to know if semen report is normal or not? Color: greyish white, viscid, vol: 1, liquificatin time: 30, ph: alkaline, sperm count: 40, motility : 60, abnormal forms: 35, pus cells2-3, epithelial cells:absent, rbcs: nil

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Volume - 1 ml is low - possibly collection problems. If not other ejaculatory duct obstruction needs to be tested. However, it should not affect fertility.

2. Liquefaction time: 30 min is within normal limits.

3. pH - alkaline is normal.

4. Sperm count of 40 million/ml is good

5. Total motility of 60 is good

6. Abnormal forms - 35 is good.

7. Pus cells of 2-3 is within normal limits.

8. All other cells are usually absent.

Except for volume, all other given values are within normal range.

Thanks doctor, six months back when I had similar test then my sperm count was 60m and volume was also 3ml however this time this looks different so I'm confused. I'm married and trying for a baby which is not happening and wife also going for tests. Thanks and look forward to your reply.

Sperm count can vary and 40 m is good. Anything thing above 20m is always good. This time also looks good. Volume can vary with method of collection. So no problem there too.
Avoid smoking, alcohol. Take vit E and B-complex supplements. If overweight, try weight reduction and moderate exercises.
No problems otherwise based on report. Evaluation of wife could be helpful.
