Question: My baby is 3.5 month old. Earlier she used to pass motion only once in a day. But from Sept 29 she is passing motion after every feed. She is currently taking my milk as well as formula similac advance stage 1. I went to doctor and he advised me to do stool test routine. After that the report showed following details:
Mucus present(+)
Consistency semi soft (mucoid)
Reaction acidic(6.0)
Pus cells few(4-10/hpf), few mucus strands loaded with (+) stacks of pus cells
Macrophages occassional
Undigested material: vegetable cells present few.
Prior to doing stool check doc suggested
Zincogut
Enterogermenia
Electral rediuse
Zifi 50
Rinifol z
After seeing report doc said its normal report.
However my lo is still suffering from same problem of passing motion after every feed. Kindly suggest

Brief Answer:
Do stool for reducing sugar

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Can understand your concerns.

A 3.5 months baby may sometimes pass stools once in 4 to 5 days or may pass stools 5 to 6 times in a day. Both these things are normal but if it's persisting for long then it's an abnormal thing.

Report is normal and the medicine that you have given are good.

Sometimes, there is allergy to cow milk protein lactogen which results in increased frequency of stools.

I suggest you to do stool for reducing sugar to look for cow milk allergy.

If it's positive then you have to change the milk powder.

Review with report.

I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.
