What Does The Following Testicle Ultrasound Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Jan 2017
Question: hi

So i got a ultrasound of my left testicle and was told There was a very small hydrocele which couldnt really be seen when touched or examined.

Ive had this checked by two private GPs and they have said they cant examine or feel anything wrong And believe the hydrocele has disappeared. i cant see no hydrocele

Is it normal to have a little bit of fluid in the tunica vaginalis?
I am confused i havent got the energy to keep thinking about it and have been told by two doctors i dont need another ultrasound and one has even said even if there is it would have got much bigger by now he is positive it has disappeared

My question is is it normal to have a bit of water in the tunica vaginalis

Thanks

Brief Answer:
It can be present in various conditions and may resolve spontaneously

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it might have resolved spontaneously and might have been present initially. Even it's normal to miss small amounts on examination or on cross illumination. It's not usual to have large amounts of fluid in tunica however the space called cavus can have small amount of fluid in hot humid climates or due to impaired absorption or over production or the conditions which usually cause generalised edema or soft tissue swellings.

It usually resolves spontaneously at its own if it's that small and doesn't need any surgical intervention. If it's not tender or painful or causing any trouble or their are no signs of infection or inflammation, it doesn't need to be bothered about much.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.

Ok so as two doctors have checked and L they cant see any swelling you wreckon i can draw the line?

i just worry a lot and think what if a lot.

The skin looks fine; however the left side is a little darker but this may just be the pigmentation. Could a image sent in give any further reassurance

Brief Answer:
It's not to be worried about any more

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Yes their apparently isn't much to be worried about. Based on the picture and the history you have shared, it seems normal or it may have resolved. Minor differences in pigmentation are natural and not a matter of concern. Regards.
