Pl advice
please do get an endometrial biopsy done
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I would like to know a little more information like:
1. Whether your periods were normal before this episode?
2. Did you have endometrial biopsy/ uterine biopsy ever, and what was the report?
3. Did you have your pap smear done ?
4. Did you take any hormones/ contraceptive pills before for such episodes?
The ultrasound report of heterogeneous echotexture of uterus with bulky size and blood clots in the uterine cavity is suggestive of excessive bleeding and gives no definitive diagnosis. Bulky cervix with multiple nabothian follicles can be due to cervical infection or malignancy. However, sometimes it is a normal finding.
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is quite common in your age group and is due to hormonal disturbances in the body. However, malignancy of the cervix and endometrium should also be ruled out.
I would suggest you to get your endometrial biopsy done, if not done earlier to confirm the diagnosis and rule out malignancy.
For Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, tranexemic acid is given followed by progesterone( meprate), if both fail then oral contraceptives ( novelon in your case) is given. If still no effect is there, then D& C is done and last resort is hysterectomy.
Your doctor is treating you on the lines of Dysfunctional uterine bleeding, but in my opinion, you should get an endometrial biopsy done.

Anemia, do get endometrial biopsy soon
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, thanks for responding.
The reports of the investigations you have mentioned are blood count report and a haemoglobin level of 9.1 is suggestive of anemia. This anemia can be due to excessive bleeding you are having.
This makes endometrial biopsy and D& C , if required a must investigation in your case.
Please consult an OBGYN specialist as soon as possible so that appropriate management can be done.

Should I wait. Pl advice

Hi XXXX, thanks for responding. Yes, if you started with novelon and you are getting relief in your symptoms, then you should complete the course of tablets and then further undergo any investigations.
