What Does This FNAC Report For Lump On Knee Indicate?
Question: My mother got FNAC done for a very small lump at the back of her knee. Here is the report which we couldn't understand
Smears are markedly hemodiluted and paucicellular and show very occasional cluster of mono nuclear cells with an occasional giant cell in haemorhagic background. No opinion possible.
Impression: hemodiluted paucicellular aspirate.

Hemodiluted paucicellular aspirate in FNAC means there is blood in whatever was taken or aspirated from the lump with inadequate cells and a definite diagnosis cannot be made.
I would advise you to do a biopsy test from the small lump at the back of your mothers knee which is more accurate to rule out malignancy.

doctor we visited doubted that it is fat deposit and nothing else but still to be dead sure he went for FNAC.
By the report of FNAC are you anyhow getting an impression that it can be malignant or we should wait for sometime before going for biopsy and go for it if the lump increases?
should there be any other observation we need to have in order to avoid any problems?'

If the lump keeps on increasing in size along with pain and redness then you can go for the biopsy test.
