Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your query and understand your concerns.
Usually arachnoid cysts are not cause of concerns, only few cases where is evidence about growing or causing neurologic symptoms are treated by surgery.
In my opinion, first there's is need for a correct evaluation of what you call passing out, it may be a seizure.
Evaluation consists on consulting a Neurologist and having EEG (electroencephalogram) done.
If the Neurologist after clinical examination and EEG results concludes that there are seizures related to arachnoid cysts then surgical treatment needed together with antiseizure therapy (drugs).
If no such relation, arachnoid cysts and schizencephaly don't need surgical treatment.
Absence of septum pellucidum is found in coexistence with other brain and skull malformations, in this case with schizencephaly and doesn't need necessarily treatment.
Hope this helps. If you have further questions, feel free to ask, if not, you can close the conversation and rate the answer.
