What Does This MRI Report Indicate?

Question: Severe hip pain in the back of my right hip, and in front hip/groin area. MRI results say 1.2cm cyst on femoral head. Radiologist said everything else normal but was mainly looking at SI joint due to previous inflammation from Psoriatic Arthritis. Is the Cyst causing pain? Do you see anything else?

Brief Answer:
No major abnormality detected.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The MRI scan images attached do not show any major abnormality other than a cyst. The cyst alone is not likely to cause the severe pain like you have described.
It is best to consult a neurologist as such severe pain is often a nerve related pain. Rest, physiotherapy and pain killers can help in reducing the symptoms.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Biopsy needed if it is actively growing.
Detailed Answer:
A 1.2 cm cyst that is causing an acute pain must be growing actively. A serial scan is needed to comment about its growth.
A removal is usually done if the cyst is growing actively. A biopsy will help in ruling out a malignancy.
Regards.
