What Does This Abdominal Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Posted on Thu, 30 Jul 2015
Question: I recently had an abdominal ultrasound which found a 1 cm "solid" lesion that the interpreter says is "probably" a hemangioma. They said there are no metasteses evident but reccommend follow up in 6mos. Is this something that I should worry about or is it common? I've never had an abdominal ultrasound

Brief Answer:
nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

Is this in the liver? It is actually quite common to see hemangiomas in the liver. These are benign lesions and ultrasound is quite accurate for these.

Follow up may be done but I don't think anything serious will come up.

Hope this helps. I will be available for follow up.
Regards
