Brief Answer:
You have and enlarged liver with fatty changes

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

The ultrasound scan report shows an enlarged liver with fatty changes. It is important to know if you have any abdomen discomfort, jaundice or pain.

There are many causes of liver showing fatty changes as given below

(i) Increased intake of fatty foods and alcohol
(ii) Over weight and obese patients.
(iii) Those who have fatty liver running in family members.
(iv) Any liver condition that is changing appearance of liver.
(v) Mild fatty liver can also be there in many normal people

It is advised that you get following tests done
(i) liver function tests including SGPT, SGOT, Alkaline phosphatase, GGT, total direct and indirect bilirubin and proteins
(ii) lipid profile test to know if you have elevated cholesterol levels
(iii) random blood sugar level

Many people have fatty liver without any disease and it is in their family. This group of patients do not require treatment. However some patients might have fatty liver due to liver problem and in most of them the condition is curable with medicine and low fat diet.

Hope your query is answered.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

From the ultrasound scan there is enlarged fatty liver. It is important to know regarding blood tests mentioned in previous reply to know if there are any functional abnormalities. It does not look like a serious problem but getting the blood tests for liver is important.
