Question: Hello doc,

could you pls help to understand the biopsy test done for my brother. it was done since he had gastritis and hernia issues.

I appreciate if you could also recommend the medication and suggested food habits and anything to go about that will help to.cure these diseases

Well likely he has dyspepsia and gastritis on biopsy and hernia Possibly hiatus hernia in this context.

Well hope he was tested for H.pylori bacteria during the endoscopy and if found to be positive then needs anti bacterial antibiotics for 10 to 14 days after consulting your physician.

In addition worthwhile trying following things and see how you feel
Ensure proper eating and sleeping time
Go for regular walk .

Avoid lying down two hours after meals
Avoid excess oily spicy food and junk food.
Drink adequate water (at least 3-4 ltr per day).

Avoid smoking or alcohol in any form
Avoid unnecessary painkillers if any
Take adequate sleep .

All this will help you in long run
Along with this can take over the counter medication like Cap. Pantoprazole 40 mg Once a day for a month after consulting your physician and see how he feels .
