What Does This Blood Report For H.pylori Infection Indicate?

Question: Dear Doctors,
I was suffering from heart burn for the past 10 months and I am diagnosed with oesphagal distal end erosion and fundus erosion through endoscopy 8 months back. Right now I am on PPIs (Sompraz-L). Inspite of taking PPI, I get frequent stomach burning/Warm Sensation , powerful burps with regurgitation of liquids and some solids after meals. The reflux is worst when I do any mentally stressful work. Ultrasound scan is normal except grade 1 fatty liver.
Recently I have undergone blood test for Hyplori IGG which according to the reference values is positive.
My question is am I positive for H-pylori according to the report? Should I take eradication therapy?. What is the future course of my treatment? Should I undergo another endoscopy as follow up?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Yes, you are positive for H.pylori as per the report.
If you are positive for H.pylori and if you have not treated it before, you need to treat it now.
After two weeks of treatment for H.pylori, you can continue taking Sompraz L for 4 weeks.
In addition you need to do the following -
1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoiding smoking and alcohol ( if you have these habits)
3. Avoiding coffee, citrus, chocolates, tomatoes, spicy/masala food
4. Eat smaller and frequent meals
5. Going to bed at least 2-3 hours after food.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
