What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

Question: since XXXXXXX I've had weird blood work. higher platelet count and Sed rate. in XXXXXXX it started with a platelet count of 389, then July went down to 382. then August my Sed rate was 30. they just repeated everything October 28 th. my platelets are 400 something and my sed rate went a little down to 25. should I be extremely concerned? I am going to see a hematologist. I have weird issues sometimes, tiredness...etc. not sure what this could be or mean.

Your platelet count is 389, 382 and 400. These all are same results. This kind of variation is common and normal. So don't worry about your platelet count.

Your esr is slightly high but again it can be non specific or due to anemia.
Your tiredness may be due to anemia. Please send me your complete blood count report. So I can help you further.

my pcp said my platelets are not normal. they are climbing. they used to be OK. I am not anemic. I was tested. I have very weird symptoms since XXXXXXX do you think lupus could be a possibility? I have had night sweats, aching in legs, non specific chest pain, headaches, nerve pain off and on. no fever though.

Your platelet count is normal. Its npt increasing. This type of variation is common. Don't worry at all about your platelet count.

You may have lupus. It can present with non specific symptoms. Your ESR is slightly high only.

You should go for ANA immunofluorescence test. It is screening test. If it comes positive then you should go for complete ANA profile. You are not anemic so no need to worry about that.

I did recently have an ANA and it was negative. I am hoping it is nothing. what would my platelet count be if I was to worry about a problem? could my platelet count cause any clotting issues or stroke risk at 450,000?

If you have negative ANA then nothing to worry. Its fine.

Your platelet count is normal. It is not increasing and there is no risk of clotting.

Normal count is 1.5 lac to 4.5 lacs per cumm. In reactive change it can increase upto 6.0 or 7.0 lacs without any clotting risk. So forgot about your platelet count. It is normal then nothing to worry about that.
