Seems like Mild Iron Deficiency.
Detailed Answer:
HI
Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.
Low MCV could be due to either Iron deficiency or Thalessemia. But in Iron deficiency the RBC count will be either normal or elevated but it shall not be elevated in Thalessemia. Infact if the ratio of MCV to RBC count is greater than 13 ( 14.2 in your case ) then it point towards Iron deficiency .
So I give you two options .
1. Start Iron tablet once a day for a month and then repeat the test .
2. Go for Iron Profile test and revert back with report.
Now coming to High LDL and Low HDL I advise the same for you too. Considering your age there is no need of medications , just do the diet and daily exercise.
Diet : Avoid high calorie food like Sweets, Ice creams , Dry fruits, Cheese , Butter , Ghee and Non veg food including Egg Yolk.
Eat more of fruits , vegetables ( Avoid Potato ) and slightly reduce intake of Rice. Avoid drinking Carbonated Drinks like Pepsi, Coca cola, etc.
Exercise : Make a habit of exercising everyday. It is OK even if you exercise 5 minutes a day but make sure you exercise every day. It is better if you could exercise 20-30 minutes daily.
Start slowly , start with casual walking and after 4-5 days start walking fast ( Brisk Walking ) and keep increasing the pace or duration every 2 weeks.
Repeat Lipid Profile after 3 months and revert back with reports.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.
Regards.
One issue I am having for quite sometime is weakness. I am suddenly feeling very week as if I want to dose off. Naturally after 2-3 hours I become ok without any medications. Is it because of iron deficiency or Vitamin B12 deficiency?
Thanks.
Both can cause these symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for follow up.
Both Iron deficiency and Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause weakness . Even Vitamin D 3 deficiency also can cause weakness and fatigue.
As of now I would recommend you to start Iron tablets ( Tab Orofer XT ) for one month and then we shall review . I weakness persists you can get Iron Profile, Serum Vitamin B12 levels and Serum Vitamin D3 levels tested and revert back.
Regards.
