What Does This Blood Report Indicate?

Please find my grandma report. Her age is around 80. She is a diabetic and has blood pressure.
Please provide some comments on these tests. If there is to worry about something.
I found her cholestrol level on high in the reports.
She is taking one egg in daily breakfast, is it fine or should we stop giving her egg becoz of cholestrol or diabetes, or should we just give her the white part of egg.
She is taking sugar medicine daily but still HBa1c is very high.
Thanks please provide your valuable opinions.
Give only white part of eggs also may suggest use of statin.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.
After going through your grand mother's reports there
- Hemogram is within acceptable levels.
- HbA1c of 7.8 can be accepted considering her age.
But considering her Fasting & post-prandial blood sugar levels further betterment in blood sugar levels can be expected depending upon her current prescription, level of activity & food habits.
Better to consult her treating diabetologist.
- Lipid Profile
LDL cholesterol levels should be kept below atleast 100.
Avoid fatty food including egg's yellow part.
Also use of cholesterol lowering medicine (Statin) may be suggested.
Better to consult her treating diabetologist.
- Liver enzymes (SGOT & SGPT) are within normal limits.
- Kidney function levels are also within acceptable levels.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dr Abhay Mali.
Diabetologist.
