Question: Hi, I recently had some bloodwork done as I have been feeling tired and dizzy. It came back with anaemia and neutropenia of unknown origin , hemoglobin 90 despite iron being normal. Also , left shifted neutrophils and a single rare myeloid pre cursor cell. The hematologist wrote a comment to investigate for an infection or inflammation. I'm terribly worried thinking its cancer. Advice appreciated thanks

Brief Answer:
You may have some infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

You have mild shift to left with few precursor cells. So it suggest some infection.

You should go for CRP ( C reactive protein).
If CRP is high then it confirm thats you have infection/ inflammation and you need treatment for that.

Your low hemoglobin may be due to drug treatment or some chronic illness.

So don't worry about cancer. Just be relaxed. Go for CRP test and take treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thank for using health care magic.

Hi, thanks for your quick response. I am not taking any drugs or therapy other then an anti-depressant. I also do not really have any symptoms of an infection other then feeling tired and dizzy which I assume is from the anemia. I tried doing some research on the internet and leukaemia keeps showing up. Do these blood results look like an indicator of leukaemia ? Also I attached copies of the results to this post . Thanks

Brief Answer:
It does not looks like leukaemia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Your total wbc count is slightly low. But your platelets count are normal and you have few premature cells. These findings does not suggest leukemia.

Your low WBC count and low hemoglobin may be due to anti depressant drug or some infection. But it is not indicating leukaemia by any mean. So don't worry about leukemia. Just be relaxed.
